Overview: BSE and NSE have announced a special live trading session scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2024. This session, in both Equity and F&O segments, involves an intra-day transition from the Primary site to the Disaster Recovery site. Schedule:

Morning Session (Primary Site)

  • Block Deal Window: 8:45 am to 9 am

  • Pre-Open Session: 9 am to 9:08 am

  • Normal Trading Session: 9:15 am to 10 am

  • Call Auction Illiquid Session: 9:30 am to 9:45 am

Afternoon Session (Disaster Recovery Site)

  • Special Trading Session: 11:15 am onwards

  • Normal Trading: 11:23 am to 12:30 pm

  • Closing Session: 12:40 pm to 12:50 pm

  • Market Closing Bell: 1 pm


Key Points:

  • The switch from the Primary to the DR site follows SEBI rules and regulations.

  • NSE Clearing will be unavailable from 10 am to 2 pm on the specified day.

  • The special trading session applies only to the equity and equity derivatives segments.

Purpose: The special trading session aims to assess the stock exchanges' preparedness to handle unforeseen events, ensuring a smooth transition to the Disaster Recovery site within the stipulated recovery time.
